Eagle Cliff Trails: Trail #68
Description
Classified as EASY-DIFFICULT trails by the Black Hills National
Forest Service. The trail is made up of mostly broad road
service and some single and dual track with sections. The Eagle
Cliff area offers a marathon length, 26.4 miles, of trails over a
variety of terrain that will take you from 5800 - 6500 feet with
scenic pastures and vistas. There are several trailheads along
US85, some only allowing winter access for cross country skiing.
Directions:
From Deadwood Bicycles, exit right from
the parking lot and drive south through Lead on US85. Turn
left at the light in Lead, onto US14A/85. Proceed approximately
8 miles past Cheyenne Crossing and Spearfish Canyon. Between 8
and 14 miles south of Cheyenne Crossing, there are four trailheads.
